Incentive Travel with Adventure & Thrills
It’s your job to arrange your company Incentive Travel and to provide a memorable programme but are you sure your programmes inspire your delegates to go that extra mile and ensure they qualify for the next one?
It’s important to know your delegates, what they like and what they don’t want to do.
Some groups might prefer a bit of Culture and experience the ways of the destination so you might organise your incentive in the Golden Triangle in India to visit the amazing palaces, forts and mosques…
Some may want total Relaxation and to be pampered, so you could consider a beautiful Spa Resort in France for example or perhaps an All-Inclusive resort in Jamaica…
And some may want to include some excitement and adventure and perhaps get an opportunity to do something a little more daring…
This article focuses on a few ‘Adventures & Thrills’ that can be included in your programme. The suggestions below are not exhaustive and in the main can be arranged in one day as part of your programme …
-
An incentive which takes you into the Amazon, sleeping in the Rain Forest and swimming with pink dolphins has got to be number 1
-
White water rafting on the Trishuli River in Kathmandu followed by an Elephant Safari will come close
-
A Formula 1 experience on the Yas Circuit in Abu Dhabi or Monaco – great for petrol heads!
-
Game drives in South Africa are hard to beat
-
Options in Zambia are endless – bungee jumping from Victoria Falls, walking with lions or a safari into the Chobe desert
-
Swimming with sharks in South Africa or abseiling down Table Mountain..
-
Rallies on Harley Davidsons to Cape Point
-
Sailing regattas in the South of France
-
Flying down the longest zip wire in Africa – in Morocco
-
Snowmobile safaris in Iceland
There are also some ‘must do’s’ when arranging any Travel Incentive
-
Do remember that not absolutely everyone might want, or be able, to take part so always build in a good alternative – for example on a recent F1 experience in Abu Dhabi one of the delegates was just too tall to fit into the F1 Race Car, so we arranged for him to have the same experience in the Safety Car, to his delight!
-
ALWAYS remember to undertake a Risk Assessment for your total Incentive programme and put appropriate procedures in place
-
Ensure that the main Group Leaders are aware of these Procedures
-
Your activity provider will normally ask each delegate to sign a Waiver document, so definitely ensure that your insurance company are aware of all activities.
An Incentive Travel Programme must be memorable – but always for the right reasons…
